Sasha Allen can be described as the sole openly transgender performer to have made it through The Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. It has been the situation for the past 21 seasons. The Newtown, Conn. duo are now part of the top 8 of the competition! Sasha declared his transgender status when they announced their auditions during the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com it was an easy decision. Sasha admitted that it was difficult to come up with a choice because he had to show a very vulnerable aspect of himself in the presence of millions. It was when he was still in high school. The support of the fans and the effect that it has had on people, regardless of the fact that it was difficult and was the main reason that was the main factor that convinced Sasha that this transition was worthwhile. The Voice wasn't even around when we played this song. The moment we heard it, we were thrilled. It was a song we had already heard; it was a track we knew we had ideas to arrange.
