Ashley Graham was born on November 22nd of 1989 in Lincoln Nebraska. Two of her sisters raised her, but she often faced bullying in school due to her large thighs. Shortly after completing the elementary school level, Graham was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (A.D.H.D. Despite having to overcome numerous obstacles, which included A.D.H.D. in the teenage years, she managed to conquer the challenges. A talent agent spotted Graham aged 12 in an Nebraska shopping center. In 2005, before graduating Lincoln Southwest High School she was featured in a variety of magazines as well as billboards. At the beginning of Graham's modeling profession, her physical characteristics caused her to be unable to find modeling jobs. Graham was offered several jobs as catalog ladies over the course of several years. She was however told by a lot of people that it could only be jobs that were simple. The session castings were wrong. However, her career took off swiftly. Sally Singer interviewed her for "Vogue's" 2007 issue. It was an opportunity for her first breakthrough. In 2009 she appeared in "Glamour magazine"'s "These Bodies Can be Beautiful at Any Size" alongside Sally Singer. Making the headlines once more, Graham starred in a controversial Lane Bryant ad that was eventually banned across a variety of countries. The commercial had received over 800,000 views by the time it was removed from YouTube. After the debate erupted, she appeared in the Jay Leno show "The Tonight Show". Graham became a well-known as a plus-size model. Grande began acting and singing at a very early age. The actress was offered a tiny role on Broadway's play 13 in 2008. After that she started acting on different television shows. The year 2010 was when she received her biggest break when she was offered a role on Nickelodeon's TV show Victorious. The character she played was Cat Valentine, an adolescent in a school for performing arts. After the sitcom was canceled in 2013, she starred in the spin-off show Sam & Cat (2013-14).
