Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. The chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, along with the natural geography. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and eating in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied to earn an English diploma and Communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was difficult to master, do or work enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a year, taking classes at classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. While in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact from a culinary perspective. Burrell is a well-known ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the United States to discuss her culinary passion and profession. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am very fortunate to share what I love most in life with others.
